FAQs

  • We help anyone 18 years or older looking for their birth parents or grandparents and has taken or will take an Ancestry DNA test.
  • We help those who were born in the United States or have USA heritage.
  • We help anyone with an unknown parent including adoptees, foster children, foundlings, donor children and NPEs.
  • We help those who know their parent’s name, but don’t know anything about their family due to being disconnected and wish to use DNA to build their tree.
Our price $59 an hour with a minimum of 3 hours to start. During these three hours, we will sort DNA matches into groups and begin to make connections between DNA matches. In many cases, we can provide an answer during that time. In other cases, we will discuss additional hours needed above the three hours.

If you were adopted, see our help page: Resources for Adoptees for information on where to begin your search.

If adoption is not your story, an Ancestry DNA test is the best place to begin. Regardless of the paperwork you may have available to you, a DNA test will give you peace of mind about its accuracy.

We will help you with every step of the search process such as:
  • DNA results analysis
  • Tree building
  • Provide DNA charts to show how we arrived at our results
  • Provide you with regular updates as information presents itself
  • Provide you with recommendations of who to contact or where to look for more information
  • Help you get the final proof you need to confirm relationships
If you are looking for siblings, cousins, an aunt or uncle, etc., it is best to hire someone with private investigation experience. We will not be able to help you with this type of search. However, we will help you find additional family members related to your newly found birth parents whenever possible.

We will complete birth parent searches up to the grandparent generation in your tree

Although we can help you every step of the way on your search, we may ask you to reach out to DNA matches to ask for information, to obtain needed documents, or to complete similar small tasks. However, the more you wish to do on your own, the faster we can find the answers you are looking for together.

It is rare that we are unable to find a result. But if that does happen, you will be asked to pay the entire fee because you are paying for a great deal of research that was already completed. Even if we are unable to give you the answer you are looking for, we will provide you with a large amount of information about your biological family tree.

Note: If we begin your search and realize we may be facing the rare situation mentioned above, we will notify you immediately and allow you to decide how to proceed.

Note: We may only be able to narrow your tree down to the grandparents. This means we are unable to confirm between three possible siblings as the birth parent. We consider this to be a positive result.
